About Me

  1. After watching The Batman (2022) movie, its post credits scene and its deleted Joker scene. I have come to the conclusion that I would love to see the Joker play a Hannibal Lector style role with Robert Pattinson's Batman. Director Matt Reeves should continue his idea on emphasizing how Batman is the greatest detective in the world. Batman should gather evidence, interview witnesses, analyze the crime scene and put together all the clues, piece by piece, to catch the villain. In an effort to understand the depraved criminal mind, Batman enlists the help of the Joker. Think of their interactions, similar to the FBI's behavioral science unit in Netflix's Mindhunter. Batman would conduct a series of interviews with the Joker, to develop profiles of super criminals, in the hopes that he can avoid another one emerging that causes catastrophic damage to the city like the Riddler. If they were to give the Joker the same sort of fear inducing brilliance and charisma that Anthony Hopkins exudes in Red Dragon or Silence of the Lambs, the sequel would be something incredible. When another super criminal finally does emerge, Batman would share intel with the Joker to try to catch them. Of course this is where things get fun, as the Joker will try to leverage Batman along the way for favors and ultimately try to find some way to escape Arkham Asylum. I'd love to see Matt Reeves take a swing at it from this angle.
  2. This scene is quality It feels like they are modeling this Joker almost directly off of Heath Ledger's performance This Joker feels more sadistic This whole scene felt very much like a Hannibal Lecter style inquiry It would be pretty cool to see The Batman visit Joker in prison to get his insight into the criminal mind. I'm all for this Joker being introduced into Matt Reeves Batman universe I found myself enjoying him far more than Jared Leto's recent portrayal, although his performance had some highlights as well.
  3. My Quick Thoughts Robert Pattinson's Batsuit is the best yet. The batsuit looks cool, its impervious to bullets, it can electrically shock people and has a port to administer adrenaline! Zoe Kravitz is pretty solid as Selina Kyle (Catwoman) Catwoman has a interesting background which ties her to the plot. I wish we had more information on how Catwoman is so agile and lethal. In the old school movies we always go to see her origin but in this movie she's already established. That laughing duet at the end between the Riddler and (presumably) The Joker was awesome. The grand mystery that occupied most of Batman and Gordon's time was underwhelming. I like the idea of watching Batman be a detective but the writers need to make sure the mystery really hits. If they are going to continue pursuing the Batman as a detective route they need to take their cues from some good detective movies. Research Seven, True detective(season 1), Gone girl, Taking Lives, The Bone Collector etc. They could really do some good stuff by focusing on Batman as a super detective and adding iconic villains. I loved how Batman and Jim Gordon were buddy buddy. They really seemed like partners on a crime stopping crusade. Collin Farrell did a solid job as the Penguin. John Turturro was enjoyable as Carmine Falcone, I wish he had more scenes. Don't let the length of the movie scare you off, if you're a Batman fan, chances are high that you'll like it. This was an enjoyable movie but it was not better than the Dark Knight, like some people have suggested.
  4. I think this new Batman trailer is the best one yet. The big concern with most trailers is showing too much of the movie before audiences have an opportunity to see it. I think this trailer shows just enough. I feel much more comfortable with Catwoman in this movie and The Riddler which seems to be the main villain. Plus the action sequences seem like they will be top notch. Things are looking good!
