I'm sure I speak for over 80% of the community when I say that removing DRM from any game is always a plus for fans. No matter how well a game performs or how good of an internet you have, at some point its gonna cause you a headache. That being said I totally understand why companies put in into their games. Its a slippery slope. Source - PC Gamer , Eurogamer
I think this game is going to do very well. It has that Civilization feel but also some key differences. One could also argue its a more fitting competitor than Old World because Old World doesn't expand into the modern eras(Something that I like).
Old World seems like it will be a worthy challenger to civilization franchise. I've always liked the early stages of Civilization and found myself becoming uninterested the further along I got in the game. That being said I've owned every version of Civilization sin CivII. So I'm a huge Civ fan. But this game looks like it's combining elements of Crusader Kings and Civilization to make something special. Graphically the game looks great. I'm glad they avoided the cartoon like graphics of the latest Civ game. Though admittedly I haven't played it yet so I don't know how it measures up performance wise. If you like 4X strategy games, go check it out! I know I'll get around to this one eventually.
