About Me

  1. I just finished watching another life season 1 on Netflix and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I thought it was pretty good. I'm a pretty big sci-fi fan, and was not expecting to like this series as much as I did. What thing that I felt really helped the show was the cliffhangers. Normally I don't care for cliffhangers because we normally have to wait for a new episode comes out. But since Netflix releases its seasons all in one go, I didn't mind the cliffhangers at all. Plus it still gave me that same effect I always wanted to see the next big issue resolved. Before I knew it, the season was over! They did a great job of making captain Niko believable as a pretty capable leader. However, my favorite character by far is William. He plays the part of the ships AI which far more human than any of the crew originally thought and then of course the crew they are a lovable bunch of oddballs. All with their own secrets and weaknesses. Somehow it all just works for me. I'm delighted to discover that although this was released in 2019 and got some terrible reviews, season 2 is coming out in the fall of this year! I won't spoil the ending to season q1 but there are some pretty big cliffhangers and I can't wait to see where they take the show next! If you're a sci-fi fan be sure to go check this one out! It''s a lot of fun and once the adventure gets going it really doesn't stop!
  2. Yes, it has some pretty big plot holes. But those are expected whenever a movie deals with time travel. And yes, some of the decision making by the characters is questionable. But at the end of the day on a while The Tomorrow War is entertaining. I think The Tomorrow War would have benefited more as a TV series instead of a movie. They set up some nice hooks that they weren't able to fully flesh out because they had so much going on. I'm seeing a lot of online chatter from critics that are deriding the look of the aliens. To me they looked perfectly fine. They aren't iconic, but they serve their purpose well, they are menacing, they look mean and nasty, they are physically imposing and they show bouts of intelligence. The ending made me roll my eyes, it's not believable that the characters would have taken the risk that they did but all in all I really enjoyed the movie. P.S. The Tomorrow War was getting so many negative reviews online that I just had to watch it as soon as possible, I thought to myself, there is no way that this movie is that bad. And it isn't! Go check it out on Amazon Video. What did you think of The Tomorrow War?
  3. I'm always up for some science fiction and I really enjoy Bruce Willis as an actor but I don't know, there is no hype for this one for me.
  4. The Godzilla vs Kong trailer is out right now and I must admit I'm kinda disappointed. Godzilla saves humans twice and now Godzilla is the bad guy that humans are trying to destroy again? I don't understand the writing. One minute Godzilla and Kong are standing on top of a ship fighting and then a few scenes later they are walking through urban cities as tall as skyscrapers? There is no way that the ship should be able to hold them. Now Kong has some kind of weapon that can overcome Godzilla's atomic breath? This is getting ridiculous!
  5. I gotta support my Sci-fi. I had no idea this was in development. I'm sure a lot of people will watch it just because Tom Holland is in it. I love hollywood's continued investment into this kind of entertainment. I hope it continues!
  6. I must admit the new dune trailer is looking pretty sweet. I can't wait to see this. Since I saw Netflix's "The King" I'me pretty hyped to see how Timothée Chalamet does in this movie. If you haven't seen 'The King' go check it out. Its a slow burn but between him and Robert Pattinson I found it to be really enjoyable. I remember seeing the original Dune, it had its quirks but I really enjoyed the story as it is a true epic. And of course the main character had some pretty cool abilities. I've never read book or at least I don't remember reading all of it. I'm glad to see they are doing this remake though. I feel like with today's technology they can really do it justice. It's also funny to me how they make Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron in star wars) the father figure as he was portrayed to be much younger in the star wars movies.
