This is great news for Sony fans. Someone over at Amazon studios must love the fantasy setting. And someone at Netflix must love the sci fi setting. All that being said neither studio has the cache of HBO. I still think The Last of Us series currently in production with HBO will be the best performer. But who knows. Maybe Amazon and Netflix will rise to the challenger. Also don't forget about the twisted metal series in production with Peacock. Sony has really spread the love. It will be interesting to see which one rises to the top.
I think the odds are pretty high that God of War Ragnarok releases in 2022. I believe that Xbox's release of Starfield via Bethesda in November, is pretty much set in stone. Because of this I imagine that Sony will want a big release during this quarter, to offset the huge release that Starfield will undoubtedly become for Microsoft. At the end of the day though, I want GOW to release when its ready. It be nice to see it released this holiday season but I prefer a quality game with quality storytelling over any minor fan complaints, if the release date were to be pushed back a little further. All that being said, I really do feel like God of War Ragnarok will release this year.
As expected God of War Ragnarok's in-game footage looks great! It appears the story will pick up almost exactly where the last one left off. It seems like some fans were a little disappointed that they actually showed Tyr in the trailer but its not a biggie to me. I think the fact that they didn't show Thor is even more telling. I do wish they didn't show Freya attacking Kratos though that was a disappointing spoiler. Not wholly unexpected but disappointing all the same.
