  1. The Godzilla vs Kong trailer is out right now and I must admit I'm kinda disappointed.

    • Godzilla saves humans twice and now Godzilla is the bad guy that humans are trying to destroy again? I don't understand the writing.
    • One minute Godzilla and Kong are standing on top of a ship fighting and then a few scenes later they are walking through urban cities as tall as skyscrapers? There is no way that the ship should be able to hold them.
    • Now Kong has some kind of weapon that can overcome Godzilla's atomic breath? This is getting ridiculous!

  2. The Resident Evil Village showcase was insane!🥰

The amount of detail they have put into this game is crazy good!

I'll be honest and admit that I do have a concern that they are now adding xbox one support and ps4 support. I'm hoping that this doesn't significantly affect performance on the next generation consoles.

After the Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco I imagine more than a few people share those same concerns. But I get it, ignoring an installed based of of over 100 million people on last gen consoles is not financially smart. One of the things Resident Evil Village has going for it is that it's not an open world like Cyberpunk2077. Its a very contained experience. So I have confidence that they can pull it off.

Re: Verse looks...kinda meh. They say its a celebration of their 25th anniversary. From what they showed, I'd didn't get the same magical impressions I did with Resident Evil Village. But I imagine they have a lot of development still left to do with RE: Verse.

I've included some nice reactions to the showcase below.

I love this comment, gorgeous game, solid performance, sounds like a winner to me!

    Agreed. The gameplay looks great.

This dude right here is a super fan. Every developer needs a fan like him.

In conclusion I would say that this was an extremely impressive showcase. I imagine this game will sell extremely well. I'm already looking forward to see what the development team does with the next game and this one hasn't even released yet.

It's an exciting time to be alive!

    What did you think?

  3. Warning, minor spoilers incoming! if you are not up to date with the series and are sensitive to spoilers run far far away!😅

I love how they adapted the War Hammer Titan from the manga, the animators did everything they needed to do and more! The way it just kind of conjures weapons at will looked extremely cool.

Plus I really enjoyed the look. It looks like a titan in full armor ready for war.  The armored titan is definitely 2nd to war hammer as far as armor is concerned and somehow, maybe because of its slimmer build and the helmet like covering over its face, the War Hammer titan looks far more dangerous than Reiner in the Armored titan.

Mikasa doing here thing was pretty awesome as well.

  4. Project Mara looks and sounds amazing!

The level of detail is incredible. The environment really looks like real life. It seems like Ninja Theory is doing some good stuff over there.

  5. I don't know how he was able to do it with so many years left on his contract but somehow James Harden was able to get the Houston Rockets to trade him to the Brooklyn Nets this year even though he has two years left on his contract beyond this year.

Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden all on the same team. That is an incredible amount of firepower. If all three are healthy I can't imagine any ream being able to compete offensively.

You could make some arguments defensively. But just from an offensive standpoint these guys are going to be a problem. All three can hit free throws at a high level, all three can drain the open shot, all three can get to the free throw line and draw fouls all three can beat their man off the dribble, all three can finish at the rim in traffic.

This team is going to be sick!

  6. This is pretty impressive. He's just a bulldozer in the paint. Its astonishing to watch a 6'6 guy routinely dominate the taller players down low.

When he has a running start he just has so much power, so much weight that the other guys just don't stand a chance.

I hope he stays healthy because he's gonna end up putting up all kinds of efficiency records for a long, long, long time! 😅

  7. I've been avoiding spoilers, but I've been wondering for a while now, how they are planning to do this. Surely Kong and Godzilla are not going to fight the entire movie.

In Kong skull island they were very careful to add that Kong was young and still growing. Kong is obviously going to have to be much larger to compete with Godzilla.

I can't even imagine how they are going to explain how Kong survives when Godzilla uses his atomic breathe. At the end of the day though I expect their skirmish will be short lived as there will likely be a team up at some point against some other monsters.

The movie is releasing March 26th 2021

  8. I know there is a lot of noise out there right now about CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077 but I honestly feel like the game is still going to do extremely well over the long run and CD Project Red will end up fine financially.

There is some talk about the E3 demo being faked. I won't get into how much of it was legit and how much wasn't but at the end of the day it seems like the demo was watermarked as work in progress, so I think they are pretty much covered.

But the major thing to consider in all of this is that CD projekt Red makes games that people really really enjoy and that's why I ultimately feel like they will be just fine. They have the content that a lot of people like and their games are set in worlds that are unlike most others.

The perfect example is Star Citizen. Its been in development since like 2012. It has raised over $300 million dollars and it has still not released. But Chris Roberts and cloud imperium games are developing a game that is totally unlike any other game out there today. So people continue to pour money into it because it's something that they love and the game promises to provide an experience that people have wanted for so long. I can't wait for them to announce an official release date with updated specs so I can finally play it myself.

Back to Cyberpunk though. We can all tell at this point that CD Projeckt Red has some huge plans for Cyberpunk. The single player experience is only the tip of the iceberg. We have the upcoming multiplayer to look forward to and a huge city to explore. I'm sure there are tons of stories that they have planned.

I think GTA V was the starting point of trying to figure out what they could do and how they could really improve the experience for that type of game. When you think about it like that, the possibilities are endless.

  9. Out of the new characters that Square added to Final Fantasy VII Remake, Roche was my favorite. He's Soldier third class.

This got me to thinking. In the old game, they never went too much into Soldier or really into world building in general. Since this is going to be a multipart release I think it would be pretty cool to meet other members of Soldier and to see what else Shinra has been doing around the planet.

For one organization to dominate the planet, I feel the there would be a lot of hidden facilities, military groups and complex hierarchies.

Similar to how Square expanded Midgar allowing us to really see it as it was originally imagined, I think it could be pretty cool to kind of explore Shinra a little bit more as well. There is a lot of room for creativity and an opportunity to add a lot more depth to the game.

I don't know if they'd go for it but if you sit back and think about books like A song of ice and fire(A game of thrones) by George RR Martin or Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson, those authors allow you to see all sides of a conflict and they also share the inner workings of the different power groups, along with their unique histories and internal conflicts. A multipart game is perfect for adding this kind of depth to the experience. RPGs are uniquely suited to create this type of experience since combat is secondary to the story.

Bioware has touched on this already with Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Dragon Age has a huge amount of lore attached to it and that serves it extremely well. Mass Effect doesn't have the same amount of detailed lore but it has a bigger conflict and that helps to make it feel more epic. Neither game though in my opinion has really taken the next step in terms of story experience.

I would love to see Square start the trend of just true episodic games. Just continuing the story, taking the time to give us all the details, and letting players enjoy the full experience. Don't just tell me Cloud is former Soldier. Show me other really cool Soldier members, maybe they are hunting Cloud and want to take him down, maybe some are his friends, maybe there is a secret Soldier base.(I know they expanded on this in other games but they should show it in the main game as well)

Another example would be Hojo. Don't just tell me that Hojo has done all these crazy experiments and then just show me Red XIII. Maybe there are other experiments that can talk like Red, maybe there were other experiments that escaped, while we were down in the lab. What else has Hojo been up to? Did he have any rivals? A guy like Hojo would probably be doing his own secret experiments. Expanding on areas like this, would really give RPGs that additional depth and allow them to truly take that next step.

  10. So it's like the Arcane warrior with a bow? I like it! I've never played it as an archer though. At least not for long. Eventually, I always get the itch to get on the front lines and go mix it up with the warriors.

  11. Joel and Ben are back and healthy. The team is playing well. And Doc is looking like the championship coach that we all know and love.

If Doc can find a way to get Ben Simmons to be more aggressive in asserting his will on the game, they are going to be extremely tough to beat. In my mind there is no reason Ben shouldn't be able to put up the same crazy numbers he put up in college. He's that gifted and skilled.

In the East I suspect Boston, Philly, Milwaukee, Brooklyn and likely Miami will be at the top. And honestly I can foresee different scenarios where any of these teams could surpass the others and go to the finals.

My gut tells me that Philly and Brooklyn will win the east as they have the most superstar talent. Although I must admit I love the toughness and defense that Jrue holiday brings to Milwaukee. I just feel like Milwaukee is still missing something.

  12. I will admit I'm going through the game slowly and I'm not in any particular rush to finish but the game is pretty fun. As I go through the different story arcs, I recognize that I generally care for the many different characters involved and enjoy helping them.

The standout gameplay system to me has definitely got to be the raiding. Its pretty smooth and seamless. All of your raiders seem to know what to do and seem to be pretty capable on their own. After 18 hours I'm still enjoying the combat. Before this game I've never played Assassin's Creed before, a friend of mine told me that this is the best one is a while. So I'm glad I decided to join the party at the right time.

I also love the settlement feature. They designed it so well with the look and feel it really makes me wish they did something more. Perhaps something closer to fallout where I could build up different settlements. That would have been awesome.

The only negative I'd add, at least for now, would be that the game seems to crash more than any other that I've played in a long time. In truth its only a minor inconvenience as I haven't really lost any in-game progress and after waiting for a minute or so I can just relaunch the game. I suspect that the fact that Im playing on a next gen console makes the crashing much less painful.

  13. Right or wrong it seems like this season Kyrie Irving is going to be the topic of discussion in the NBA world this year. Hopefully at some point coverage around him will be just about the games. I feel like Brooklyn has had some struggles this year but they still have a great opportunity to go deep in the playoffs.

  14. The first Wonder Woman movie was way better. Its funny because I was really hyped to see this movie. But when they announced the first Wonder Woman movie back in 2017 I was highly skeptical.

Wonder Woman 1984 just doesn't have that flow to it, it feels disjointed. It felt like they spent a lot of time on Diana and too little time on Wonder Woman. A lot of the supporting actors had a lot of time to shine as well.

I'm still looking forward to the next Wonder Woman movie but they really need to get the DC universe on the right track as it just feels so unnatural for all of this stuff to happen in a vacuum.

Also for the next one I hope they develop a really interesting antagonist. Cheetah and Maxwell Lord didn't feel like worthy adversaries just tragic characters. I feel  like Gal Gadot is excellent as Wonder Woman but she just didn't have much to work with in this movie.

  15. This is not the type of Bethesda news I was looking forward to, but I am intrigued to see how it will do. I have tons of questions about it.

    • Will the storyline connect with the movies?
    • Will they and can they use Harrison Ford's likeness?
    • Will this be a single player only game?
    • Is the Indiana Jones fan base large enough and have enough interest to support the game?

Either way it seems like Bethesda is really primed to start pumping out the games, I look forward to some more news on Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6.

  16. You know, I have yet to play this game.

I've watched a few of my friends play it though it looks really good.

If someone made an open world(preferably open galaxy) Star Wars game mixed with these graphics, combat mechanics and quality story telling they would have struck gold.

They would literally have a goldmine. That game, if it were ever made, would be amazing.

And I'm not sure that development would ever cease.

  17. I think this really depends on how they decide to reconstruct the world. In the first game the Midgar portion took up one disc, and that was only one location. While most of the other points of view on the map are much smaller, there are still some significant story developments that occur and to recreate them with the same level of quality that Square Enix is known for is going to take a lot of work. I think we are looking at anywhere from 3 to 6 parts to complete the story.

I'm not looking forward to the long wait to reach the finish line but I am extremely pleased with the level of quality from the remake thus far. Part 2 can't come soon enough!

  18. Age of empires has posted a recent update regarding age of empires 4 and the definitive editions of age of epires 2 and 3.

It seems like AOE4's many different parts are coming together to make one cohesive game. No real new information but its good to hear that development is moving along. And that the devs are saying they are able to play the game everyday. Hopefully, this year we will get a lot more info on the different empires available, gameplay mechanics and hopefully a release date!

    Checkout the update yourself here.

  19. Skyrim released in 2011. Let that sink in 2011! And we still don't have a new Elder Scrolls game!  By contrast Oblivion released in 2006. That means we are talking 10 plus years when its all said and done before another main series Elder Scrolls game is released.

As a fan that's just way too long. The only other thing I can compare it too is the wait for George RR Martin's A song of ice and fire(A game of thrones) 'The Winds of Winter' which also came out in 2011.

Im super excited to learn more about Starfield but 10 years. A lot can happen in 10 years. I hope they make some more announcements soon regarding Elder Scrolls.
