  1. The visuals on this game are very atmospheric. I can see everybody that played or sampled Frostpunk will eat this game up.

It looks great and it seems like the devs have added another gameplay element, in the form of trauma to a villagers mental state. Now I'll be honest, when it comes to games and movies I've never really cared for the traumatic experience element as a plot device or major gameplay mechanic.

Hopefully this will just be more of a minor mechanic and the game will focus more on the RPG aspects and city building. But that's just personal preference. Either way I think the game looks great. The trailer did a fantastic job of conveying the atmosphere and making the game seem very unique compared to a lot of other games that's out there.

Be sure to checkout the gamespot preview of Gord as well.

I feel like this is the type of game that can have a lot of legs after its initial release. You can always add more monsters, maps, scenarios etc. Plenty of room to extend the life of the game and add DLC for super fans. Very similar to what paradox interactive(Stellaris, Crusader Kings 2 & 3, Europa Universalis etc) does with their games.

  2. Luka had a great sort of trick shot against the Grizzlies. But to me he's proven at this point in his career that he is more than capable of hitting the game winner. I think he's a top 5 player in the league right now. Even though he's not an MVP candidate because of the Mavs record he is definitely a AAA player. There isn't a GM in the league that doesn't wish they had the foresight to draft Luka before the Mavs.

It's funny that analysts like Skip Bayless really just focus on his weaknesses. Shannon will compare him to Larry Bird and Skip will say he doesn't see it. Never mind that Luka right now is still younger than Bird was when Bird played in his rookie season. But Skip is a professional troll and he always goes after the top players. One day though he's gonna have to come around on Luka Doncic. His free throw percentage and three point percentage will rise. His game is predicated on skill not explosive athleticism. These types of players almost always improve their percentages.

  3. Episode 91 was good. Shinso's voicebox is a nice little cheat code. You never know if your ally is the one who said something or if Shinso is simply mimicking him. He completely changes the battlefield because the enemy can't communicate via word of mouth.

I also love the touch of having him have some familiarity with Aizawa as you see him with those binding cloths wrapped around his neck.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the fight. We haven't seen in amazing animation yet such as in Deku's fight against muscular but we know it's coming!

It was also really good to see Deku speaking to the first holder of one for all and a brief discussion of the singularity.

  4. Yea, Asta with the mega sword is cool but I just know that he's about to run out of time and will revert back to regular form.

It feels like Magna and Zora along with some of the other minor characters will get a chance to shine for a little bit. I also have a feeling that Zora has set like a thousand magic traps while this battle has been raging.

  5. Finally! It looks like Luffy is about to fight for real. Big Mom is out of the picture, Traffy is down, Zoro is down, Kid and Killer are off screen. Just Luffy and Kaido!ūüėĀūüĒ•

I love that Zoro got a clean hit in on Kaido. It seems like there is some debate as to how. Was it color of supreme king that Zoro accidentally used? Or was it some type of unknown power related to his 9 sword style?

  6. Deku looks pretty cool! I love how he is wearing Gran Torino's cape now.

Also the scene the Sixth puts his arm around him giving him guidance about his quirk smokescreen is pretty cool.

Another good scene was where the Sixth told Deku to consider the quirks in one for all more like tools and then the manga shows what the quirks physical manifestations would be be a rope, a jetpack, a radio, a smoke grenade.

At the end of the chapter after delivering the punch Deku says that's his full power, so I'm wondering if he is just merely saying hey I'm able to use multiple quirks at once now or if he is actually using one for all at 100%.

I saw some comments about Deku shouldn't be fighting alone etc. But from the last chapters we have to realize that Deku isn't fighting alone. He obviously has all of the one for all users there with him, giving him tips and guidance.

At this point I find it really interesting that it seems like one for all was never passed to someone with a powerful quirk there has to be at least one person with a OP type quirk. As it stands now, were it not for Deku's physical abilities due to multiple generations. He really wouldn't stand a chance against the likes of Bakugo or Todoroki.

  7. Wow. Lol. That would be too much. Just way too much If anybody ever decided to follow through with this I would say just make sure its on an island please. Lets have no mainland Jurassic Park imitations.

But if you were really smart enough to do this then why not put that intellect to good use and solve some of the world more pressing problems. Just saying...ūüėÖ

  8. The team is looking really good against the blazers. In the 3 point era teams value shooting and mobility more than size. But in the playoffs when the game slows down and teams get a chance to really prep and strategize for one opponent, they really will expose your weaknesses. I don't care how good you shoot the three ball. In the playoffs, NBA size plus, skilled post play and rebounding can be devastating!

It's amazing to me just how undervalued Demarcus Cousins skillset has become. I feel like the LA Clippers got a steal. Hopefully they extend him pass the initial 10 day contract.

  9. I'm guessing its always better late than never but this is incredibly late. It would be strange to unveil the banner in May and than proceed to get knocked out of the playoffs a week or so later.

Now hopefully Lebron and Anthony Davis can comeback and provide the team a boost before they drop to far in the standings. But as it stands now, there is a scenario where the Lakers drop all the way to the eighth seed. I imagine that's highly unlikely but definitely not impossible. A part of me feels like they should have just dropped the banner at the beginning of the season like normal. But I understand that they want the fans to be able to enjoy it if possible.

  10. I really enjoyed Godzilla vs Kong! I had previously seen two reviews beforehand. One gave it a 5 out of 10 the other gave the movie a 7 out of 10. From the trailer, I thought the movie looked pretty cool but they had killed off so many of the great characters in the first movies I had some big doubts as to how good this new movie would be.

Godzilla vs Kong did not disappoint you could say that Godzilla and Kong go for three rounds in the movies. I won't talk about each individual battle just the first one. There was a scene on a transport ship that I thought was absolutely ridiculous. There isn't any transport ship in the world that should be able to hold Godzilla's weight let alone Kong and Godzilla at the same time. I just thought that whole fight scene was a bit silly.

As for the whole let them fight  idea carried over from the first movies, they certainly do let them fight! They have extended sequences of fight scenes. I'll be honest and say the last fight had me kinda sad at one point. Because these two really go at it.

I would say if you're looking for the human drama element like from the first Godzilla remake back in 2014 this is definitely not that. There are a couple actors that get a few scenes to shine but this movie is all about the monsters. Its a great action movie, that adds a little more worldbuilding to the universe as they explore more of the hollow earth theory.

My question now is where do they go from here?

  11. I can definitely see some people buying this. The facemask looks pretty fashionable to me. The question is how often would you actually wear it? A part of me feels like it would just be pretty cool to own.

The official website is loading super slow, so they must be getting a lot of attention. The light colored ones look nice enough but also look like they won't go with everything. I'd wager the black ones would sell a lot better. I guess we'll see.

from what I've read so far the masks will have :

    • An air filter
    • 3 fans(presumably to keep you cool)
    • Noise canceling headphones
    • And headlights
  12. I really like KAT and respect him a lot. I've been watching him play since his Kentucky days. Anthony Edwards looks like he may eventually be terrorizing the league but...so far LaMelo Ball has had the better rookie season. The numbers bear that out. Now LaMelo does have a bit of an advantage since he's already played professionally overseas but that doesn't disqualify him for rookie of the year. In flashes Edwards seems hyper athletic and just oozes potential but just in terms of who's had a better season, its definitely LaMelo Ball so far. And I imagine its gonna be hard to change people's minds on this one unless Edwards turns it up another level in these last remaining games.

  13. In some cases NBA coaches are really stalling the careers of these young guys, causing teams to develop at a slower rate, and creating inaccurate perceptions of players that can kind of carry over with them throughout their career. This hurts their future opportunities going forward and their overall earning potential .

    Julius Randle
Julius Randle put up some good numbers last night 19 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists 1 steal, 1 block but 0-4 from three.  Final score was Knicks 112 to Nets 114 . The next time Julius touches the court I bet he puts up a thousand threes . If just one of those 4 goes in, the Knicks win the game. It should be obvious to everyone at this point how competitive Julius is and how much work he's willing to put in to win.

I hope he gets a big new contract because he's earned it. He has proven all of the doubters wrong. These teams should have seen his work ethic and eventually realized it was going to show up on the court. All he needed was consistent minutes and an opportunity to just develop.

I feel like Luke Walton had a huge negative impact of Julius' career. Luke gave him inconsistent minutes during his entire tenure, made him play out of position as a center and kept demoting him to the bench. No wonder he asked the Lakers to just let him go. He knew they were gonna low ball him on his contract and his minutes were going to decrease even more. And shockingly enough the Lakers let Julius Randle go to reserve cap room. What does that say about how much the team ever valued you? Hopefully the Knicks are smart and lock him up for a long time. Even the casual observer can see how much he wants to win.

    James Wiseman
You know its interesting, I'm keeping a close eye on the golden state warriors and how Steve Kerr is talking about Wiseman. Every time I turn around I see Steve Kerr making comments to the press about James Wiseman. This young guy has all the measurables you could want from your NBA center, he's agile and he is very obviously offensively talented but he's young and he just needs some time to develop.

But Steve Kerr is talking about him in the press about how he needs to learn the game and openly talking about his confidence to the press. Its just ridiculous. And I see Kerr making the same mistakes that Luke Walton made. Talking about how development doesn't necessarily mean minutes. Almost all the great NBA players got minutes when they were young. Plenty of chances to mess up. Some people develop at a different pace than others. The problem is Kerr is talking about Wiseman in the press like he's getting 35 minutes a night. Kerr may can get away with talking about a young promising rookie now. But what happens 3-4 years from now when that rookie develops and you want him to sign long term, he's only gonna re-sign for the max. Or what happens when you stifle his development and he doesn't look like the young star everyone hoped he be? He's gonna sign that qualifying offer and then leave the next year if you don't trade him. Once he gets under a coach that just lets him play he'll look like an all star.

As much as I like Steph Curry Warriors aren't going to win the championship this year and I think its very detrimental to talk about your young rookie the way Kerr is. It's easy to look good as a coach when you have 4 proven all star¬†players on your team in your first year. But now that you don't have all of those all stars playing...ūüôā

  14. Good for Jrue Holiday. I agree with the premise that he had all the leverage since Milwaukee gave up so much to get him. But you have to think that Milwaukee had already planned for this outcome. At this point we all know what to expect from Milwaukee. They are going to be great during the regular season but will struggle during the playoffs. So it will be great to see if Milwaukee can finally break through this year since they have 3 impact players that are capable of giving them 20+ a night.

  15. At some point I feel like Zoro/Zolo(he'll always be Zoro to me!ūüėÖ) Is gonna open that left eye and its gonna be the beginning of the end!

This was the perfect chapter to do it but he still manages to shine without letting loose. One day though, I know its coming.

  16. Asta's third sword looks pretty boss. I'll be interested to see how they explain its effects. It seemed to somehow cause the Devils to go back into a physical form so he could slice them. But I'm sure its a bit more complicated then that.

  17. While episode 90 was mostly set up it did serve as a nice info dump.

I can't wait until they start the new battle arc that they've been teasing in the trailers. Some of the action should be pretty cool. We are going to see a lot of interesting abilities from students that belong to other classes, that haven't had a chance to show their stuff yet.

  18. I was really looking forward to seeing the fight between muscular and Deku. One thing I really appreciate about Kohei Horikoshi is that he doesn't often cut away from the action and leave you hanging for months on the results. I'm interested to see how Deku fights now I wonder if he will have a sort of prediction ability. Able to sense what an enemy will do next, which will enable him to dodge incoming blows.

  19. I can't wait to see what they do with the James Bond license. In my mind its going to be hard for any James Bond game to beat Goldeneye. But an original story James Bond sounds promising.

I wish we had a lot more cinematic experiences. I really like what Capcom has done with the resident evil franchise recently.

Graphically speaking recent resident evil games are very visually appealing. I don't just want to play those games, I want to experience the atmosphere. I love watching Let's Play sessions of those game because they are so atmospheric. So I hope IO interactive brings that kind of experience to James Bond.

I think a James bond game could have a very similar feel. I think the devs are in a good place if they start with the question of how do I make you want to watch what happens next? How do I create a cinematic experience?

If we ever reach the point of companies doing product placement in games as frequently as they do it in movies we will have reached a special place in gaming. Can you imagine instead of simply seeing the newest Aston martin on screen you get to drive it. You could see the interior, hear the roar of the engine, observe the inside viewing angles from the drivers perspective? This would be much more influential than simply seeing it in a movie. Or what about James Bonds suits and gadgets? The possibilities are endless.

At the end of the day its always first and foremost about the gameplay. But if you make a game atmospheric, cinematic and make the player feel like they are actually experiencing that world, you will truly have something special.

A great example is The Last of Us 2(TLOU2). I was not a fan of the story decisions that the devs made in the game. However, I grade it as a AAA experience. They created an experience that is hard to find in video games today. Again, they didn't just create a game, they created an experience.

In the next few years I believe there will be a lot more games that start creating cinematic experiences. I'm keeping my eyes on perfect dark. It is currently being developed by the initiative. They have been open an honest, their goal is to create a cinematic experience.

The trailer they have, has the professional voice actor, they start playing some really good cinematic music, it almost feels like a movie trailer. I'm a little concerned in regards to the setting that they've chosen created but I'm very excited to see what they do.

A James Bond game in this vein has a lot of potential let's hope they don't mess it up!
